Store Manager

Cambrian Pharmacy is a unique, integrative pharmacy specializing in complimentary health solutions located in North West Calgary. Cambrian Pharmacy includes a traditional and compounding pharmacy, a large retail front of supplements, homeopathic and natural remedies, along with traditional OTC products, a large natural health and beauty section, and a post office.

With a concept unique to Calgary, they are a one stop shop for both eastern and western approaches to health. As such, our next hire is a team leader who has the ability to coach and mentor team players to excellence.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing customer service team
  • Coach and motivate team toward consistent achievement or over achievement of solid customer service and delivery
  • Ensure strong, effective, timely communication occurs throughout all levels of employees
  • Effectively manage overall performance of team, providing constructive feedback or progressive discipline as required
  • Set expectations and hold people accountable; promote teamwork through open and honest conversations
  • Ensure customer concerns are resolved with a sense of urgency and sound judgment
  • Support the bookkeeping function such as deposits and accounts receivable
  • Develop and implement pharmacy operating procedures and ensure compliance

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Minimum 3 years retail and supervisory experience including demonstrated leadership and coaching competencies
  • Ability to learn and be trained in the post office with training provided by Cambrian Pharmacy and Canada Post
  • Pharmacy experience and supervision is not necessary but would be an asset
  • Proven ability to recruit, select and retain top customer service talent
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including day, evening and weekend shifts within retail hours of operations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Passion for offering high-end customer service
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree an asset
  • Professionalism

Cosmetician

With a concept unique to Calgary, this company has a new approach to skin care within the organic cosmetic industry and is looking for a team player who has the ability to identify with customers and understand their beauty and skin care needs. This position is primarily responsible for providing a variety of health and beauty advice as it relates to natural, organic, healthy, non-toxic chemical ingredients and educating the consumer. It is taking the concept of beauty and health to the next level.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Use excellent customer service skills to share product knowledge, promote new or related products, achieve sales targets, and increase market share.
  • Consult with customers and assess their personal needs in order to provide beauty/cosmetic advice and guidance, including product demonstrations.
  • Establish and maintain excellent customer relations, following up on satisfaction of purchases, maintain client files, and notify customers of up-coming events/promotions.
  • Merchandise, order and maintain inventory of the health and beauty section according to store standards.
  • Merchandizing and assisting in other areas of the store as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and awareness of trends, new products, advancements, etc., by attending vendor-sponsored training programs and additional avenues.
  • Organize and implement special event plans.
  • Additional various retail style jobs as required including front till and POS operation.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of one-year apprenticeship program (or equivalent) in Cosmetology or Esthetics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of:
    • skin structure, type & skin care
    • cosmetic chemistry and ingredients with a focus on healthy, natural non-toxic ingredients
    • organic cosmetics
    • make up techniques and color theory
    • hair care, nail care, fragrances, aromatherapy and essential oils
    • the male market
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred as a cosmetician or esthetician
  • An awareness of organic make-up and it’s advantages
  • Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to build trust and relationships to service a customer focused environment
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Able to work in a fast paced customer focused environment
  • Strong communication skills: verbal and written

Fulltime and part time positions are available. Working some evenings and weekends are mandatory. Positions are to start in January. Post Office Customer Service Representative

Cambrian Pharmacy is looking for a customer service representative for the post office. This is a lead position, fulltime, and is available immediately. Cambrian Pharmacy is an independently owned and operated pharmacy with an independent retail post office located inside the store. Cambrian Pharmacy offers pleasant working conditions, opportunity for advancement, and benefits. Work hours will include some evenings and weekends, however we are closed Sundays and most holidays. We are looking for someone who likes to think outside the box, is open to continuously learning, and interacts well with team members and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of and experience in retail postal outlet operations with 1-2 years of direct experience.
  • Ability to lift heavy packages and parcels.
  • Bondable, organized, self-directed with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and direct the work of others.
  • Committed to providing superior customer service.
  • Able to problem solve, make decisions and devise appropriate solutions.

Primary roles:

  • Delivering full service retail postal services including courier items, postal boxes, money transfers and parcels.
  • Maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate and work well with other team members.
  • Communicate with Canada Post.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering product.

Additional roles:

  • Front till and POS operations
  • Assist with merchandizing the retail store front
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Various other retail jobs

Skills and Abilities:

  • Work as a team member within the pharmacy and with other departments
  • Strong team player and is able to adapt to changing initiatives and goals
  • Able to work in a fast paced customer focused environment
  • Strong communication skills: verbal and written
  • High level customer service skills
  • Computer skills are an asset
  • Understanding of merchandising, pharmacy and retailing would be an asset.
